Chelsea Legend Bobby Tambling Dies Aged 84

Bobby Tambling, Chelsea's all-time leading scorer for 45 years, has died aged 84 after a long illness including a debilitating leg ailment and dementia. He scored 202 goals in 370 appearances for the Blues between 1959 and 1970. Tambling helped Chelsea win the 1965 League Cup, scored a Chelsea-record five goals in a single match against Aston Villa in 1966, and earned three England caps. His record stood until Frank Lampard surpassed it in 2013. Chelsea FC expressed their deepest condolences, calling him 'one of our most legendary players.' After his playing career, Tambling also became a beloved figure in Irish football, winning the League of Ireland title with Cork Celtic.
