South Korea fought back from a goal down to defeat Czechia 2-1 in Guadalajara, with Hwang In-beom inspiring the comeback. Ladislav Krejci had headed the Czechs in front, but Hwang levelled with a clever finish before setting up Oh Hyeon-gyu's 80th-minute winner. The result lifts South Korea level on points with Mexico at the top of Group A. It marked their first win in a World Cup opener since 2010, with star forward Son Heung-min driving an energetic attacking display.
